Know Your Enemy
Player Focus Series: Hank
[Copyright: Breaking Bad]
In the last Player Focus Series I interviewed the 2nd best Dutch RA player (Dutchy) so it is only fitting that this time we interview the Dutch number 1. Does anyone smell me trying to set-up a best of 9 😜? ORA-Hank has been a reliable average pro on CnCNet for years. An always respectful opponent, find him playing mostly 2v2 games. He has definitely improved his play in the last year over the coronavirus period and has scored a few big wins on the Ladder. [Answers in bold]:
1) Tell us a little about yourself and when did you start playing Red Alert?
I'm a 39 year old Dutch man from Eindhoven, Netherlands and I work in real estate. I started playing this game in 1996 when it was released but I didn't get into online play until 2014 on CnCNet.
2) Do you play any other games online? If not any interesting hobbies?
I sometimes play Xbox with the kids but my main passions are skiing in the alps, and my football club PSV Eindhoven.
3) What is your favourite map and why?
I would say P4 as it is very balanced and fair map, you can choose Soviets or Germany and there is good team play.
4) What is your most memorable game?
Not one in particular but I beat some mega pro players with Rioo as my partner on P4 2v2.
5) Who is your biggest rival(s) in your time playing cncnet?
I play for fun and I try not to beef with anyone. I've played many games with players like Muadib, Crush, Boy, Yuzgen, Leigh, NastyNate etc
If I had to pick one player it would be Lordy in the past as he talked a lot of crap. However these days I get on alright with him. Like I said I play for fun I don't want to argue with anyone.
6) Why did you join ORA clan?
A good clan with sporting players, good mentality and support.
7) Which changes would you like to see made to Red Alert/CnCNet?
Not too many. I hate cheaters. They should be banned for life or at the least, a very long time.
8) Any final comments?
I hope we can generate more pro players. I would love for that to happen. We need to attract more players to the game and have a better atmosphere for welcoming people. Thank you for the interview.
